Abstract: Considering a homeomorphism of the plane onto itself, we prove thatthe criterion of quasiconformality is the presence ofan upper bound for the modulus of the family of curvesjoining the images of the opposite sides ofan arbitrary oriented square with the sides parallel to the coordinate axes. © 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
