Abstract:
We consider the problem of interpolation of a convex function by tension splines with inheritance of the convexity condition. Previously, we developed the near-optimal algorithm for automatically selecting tension parameters when interpolating a convex function; now we propose to use it in the problem of piecewise convex interpolation. Using numerical examples, we show that tension parameters determined on subdomains when constructing separate splines can be used in a global tension spline construction over all data, which ensures the required convexity on subdomains.
