Abstract: Under certain assumptions, the Volterra equation of the first kind can be reduced to that of the second kind. If the kernel of the equation depends on the difference of arguments, we can apply the probabilistic renewal theory for densities to the reduced equation. Weak moment conditions on the kernel are assumed.
