Abstract:
Let D be a conjugacy class of elements of order 3 in a group such that each pair of elements of D generates a homomorphic image of SL(2,3), SL(2,5), or an extraspecial group of exponent 3 and order 27. The paper is mainly concerned with the description of groups generated by three elements of D, two of which commute.
