We expose the Moutard transformation for two-dimensional Dirac operators, We explain its geometric meaning using spinor representations of surfaces in four-dimensional space and indicate some applications for constructing exact solutions of two-dimensional soliton equations (Davy-Stewartson II and modified Veselov-Novikov).
